What to expect when you attend for a consultation

At the first appointment, you outline the issue(s) that has brought you to therapy and what you would like to achieve from the work. I can then assess whether psychoanalytic psychotherapy would be of benefit at this time or whether some other form of help would be more appropriate. If this is the case, I can refer you to a relevant professional service or appropriate professional register.
If I consider that psychoanalytic psychotherapy is appropriate for you, I will outline what is involved and explain confidentiality, privacy and data protection policies, frequency of appointments, cancellation policy, fees and method of payment.
If you wish to proceed, we can start the work, based on available appointments.
Each consultation lasts 50 minutes.
